Burberry recently presented it’s runway collection at LFW followed by a string of events to celebrate the new direction in which luxury is heading. Earlier this year Christopher Bailey announced that the luxury brand would be merging both men’s and women’s collections and followed on with a successful runway collection presented at Maker’s House, Soho, in the heart of London.
The luxury brand is consistently paving the way for other brands to follow suit and announced that they would be launching ‘see now, buy now’ where clients are able to view the collection on the runway and purchase immediately in-store. It’s been a long-time coming for brands to start moving in this direction and just 15 minutes after Bailey made the announcement, Tom Ford also announced moving in this direction (followed by a call to C.B where Tom Ford laughed and mentioned he had thought of it previously but Bailey had beat him to it).
Ruffled collars and poetic tulle dresses were layered with mannish striped pyjama sets – Virginia Woolf’s novel ‘Orlando’ came to life as Bailey found inspiration from the sexually ambiguous theme of the novel and each guest attending the runway event found the novel placed on every seat.
Take my advice…there is not ‘one’ must-have piece in this collection. Burberry have been so clever in creating several strong pieces-from an over sized shearling jacket and pyjama robe-dresses to ruff-cuff shirts and a cutaway platform boot.
I’m lucky to work very closely with the brand and was part of a post-fashion week event that we hosted in the Mall of the Emirates store, Dubai.
The event saw everyone from bloggers and entrepreneurs alike to view the stunning new runway collection and to celebrate the launch of Burberry’s new Bridle bag-a beautiful runway satchel with Bridle leather and curved equestrian shapes featuring Gold hardware and studs.
Burberry often celebrates it’s craftsmanship and flew an artist out to hand-paint the bags exclusively for the event where clients could choose to have their piece monogrammed or have a delicate floral motif painted on.
After the success of the collection, there has been a huge amount of interest in both ready to wear and the Bridle bag – contact if interested and I can get back to you to arrange an exclusive appointment!
