Last week I was lucky to venture into the House Of Bazaar for a private tour in the Mall of the Emirates! For any readers outside of the Middle East, the House of Bazaar is a stunning walk-in edition of Harper’s Bazaar Arabia and features fashion, lifestyle, health & beauty, offering top tips and knowledge from industry insiders and the creatives that put so much work into the publication.
The house was designed with four rooms, using stunning furniture and decor from Marina Home, all available to purchase (I wanted it ALL) and had four rooms-The Wellness Room, The Closet, The Boudoir, and The Gallery.
We stepped into the Wellness Room first, and were welcomed by Bazaar’s digital and features editor Maddison Glendinning and food editor Dalia Dogmoch Soubra who shared health tips and tricks. My favourite was Dalia’s Ice Tea with Raspberry tea leaf, mint, ginger and turmeric which was so calming and full of vitamins & minerals.
Next up was the Closet (one of my favourite rooms of course!) where I got to see the amazing Rosemin Manji present this season’s trends from an array of brands, alongside Bazaar’s Katie Trotter-fashion & beauty director of Harper’s Bazaar Arabia.
Those of you who follow my instagram & snapchat will have seen me share Rosemin before – she is one of my favourite bloggers/entrepreneurs and knows a thing or two about all things fashion, luxury and lifestyle!
Rosemin and Katie shared their must-have pieces from Gucci, Roksanda Ilincic, Fendi, No21 and a fair few others. What I loved is they shared some up and coming brands to the UAE as well as Middle Eastern brands with more traditional designs.
Every single piece shown was available to purchase from each brand so it was a real partnership between the publication and brands coming together to celebrate fashion, wellness and lifestyle.
Next up was the Boudoir, in which we got to meet Toni Malt, Chanel’s regional makeup artist. This was a stunning room with darker interiors and the focus was Chanel’s new Rouge Allure Ink.
Toni shared her expertise with us and we got to see the new liquid ink-an intense array of Reds for the lips, as well as some stunning deep Red/Copper shades for the eyes, creating more of a dramatic look. These are the first ever matte-liquid lip colours created by the brand’s Global Creative Designer for MakeUp and Colour, Lucia Pica. A fascinating story, might I add, about Lucia’s bold risk-taking for Chanel and her obsession for the colour Red, that the brand was initially not so keen on but she was intent on showing that this could work!
From here it was on to the Gallery! A creative space where L.A based artist Amir H.Fallah shared some of his works of art…
Until next year #HouseOfBazaar #WorldOfFashion16 …
