Wow this week has been a blur! Work has been busy, I’ve been busy moving…and I don’t know where the week has gone. I had to set a date in the diary to actually have fun and dance! So where to see and be seen?? I’ve fast learned that although they say Tuesday is ladies night in Dubai, it seems more as though everyday is ladies night! I’ve literally had vouchers and drinks promotions thrown at me left right and centre so I kind of get a little picky when I’m choosing where to go and unwind with my girlfriends after work…
Tuesday’s pick was by far one of the best nights I’ve had in a while. The Vault at the JW Marriott Marquis is the highest ladies night in Dubai…I mean if you watched my snap you’d have seen us hop from one lift to another to get the 71st and 72nd floors before we headed into this place.
You step in and are transformed into the kind of bar us women would imagine a tall dark ‘007-type’ sipping his drink casually at the bar-it has a Daniel Craig/Bond feel to it (ticks all my boxes so I’m happy). Gleaming silver notes, dark rich wood and a cigar room to top it off (which I got to take a sneak peak in)…it’s like walking into a glossy uptown Manhattan hideaway and I loved it! It’s one of the best feelings walking into a place where you not only get a good crowd, but the decor makes you feel as though you really are away somewhere else. And given that this is in the World’s tallest twin-skyscraper hotel, you literally feel like you’ve been let into a secret haven…with a view.
If you happen to pass by, you have to try the breaded sesame prawns (lush!) and trust me…you’ll love the RnB mixed with house and 90’s tracks (those who remember Jade-don’t walk away, Janet Jackson-we go deep, will be buzzing from the playlist) and I can PROMISE you it won’t take you long before you’re up on your feet dancing!
It’s one of my favourite places now as you get a relaxed atmosphere but it has this glossy sophistication about it. Which is why I opted for the underwear as outerwear trend and picked a slip-dress in a Champagne/Rose hue. I’m not one to lean towards ‘pretty’ things with out toughening it up a little so no surprises on the black belt that I looped around my waist and black lace bralette. I’m loving the metallic sheen on this dress and the tiny tight pleating gives it an edge-had it of been plain it would of looked like I was actually wearing my actual night-attire!
For my followers outside of Dubai, you’ve got to visit the Vault if you can-and send me snap/IG messages to let me know what you think!
