Just about everyone has embraced the cold shoulder/off the shoulder trend…myself included. Obviously. Everywhere you turn-every store/boutique is filled with different variations of this, from crop styles, to ruffled and striped and I’ve found that I’ve had to stop myself from buying the same style over and over.
Don’t get me wrong, I love this trend. I just need to remind myself that not every blouse I now buy needs to be off the shoulder. So I was heading out and stuck with what to wear (my wardrobe is still packed away in several suitcases since I moved here as I refuse to unpack for the 100th time before actually finding the perfect apartment) and after one or two outfit changes I opted for a classic oversized lightweight shirt with high-waisted black shorts.
I wanted to have bare shoulders but I didn’t want to wear the usual off the shoulder top (I’ll save that for another time!) so I played around with my shirt opting for more of an ‘undone’ look and when I posted on snapchat I received several comments back!
All I did here was to button the shirt (not all the way down) at a point where a could comfortably pull it across off of my shoulders, and with the remaining material that I didn’t button up, I pulled forward and tied it into a loose knot… that easy! Just be sure to wear a bralette below (lace is better) as a padded bra kills the whole look. Outfit details below:
