ROAD TRIP! Over the weekend we hit the road and headed to Ras al-Khaimah to explore…For any followers outside of the UAE, Ras al-Khaimah, or RAK, is one of the seven emirates that makes up the United Arab Emirates.
After what seemed like a looong stretch of sandy roads and desert (and a fair few Camels along the way), we finally reached The Waldorf Astoria, a buzzed-about NYC hotel which has ventured out all over the world and lucky for us, is also comfortably sitting in RAK!
High Tea was heaven in this place! Ohhh the way I have missed traditional British finger sandwiches (take note on my last post and you’ll get how much I’m missing the UK)!! As a tea-lover I was so happy to see an extensive list of fine TWG Teas and the combination of smoked Salmon/Egg-Mayo/Cucumber sandwiches was perfect. Service was quiet and elegant which is so much better when relaxing and enjoying afternoon tea-I’m put off really quickly when staff hang about and don’t let you really enjoy time out so we really appreciated being left alone to enjoy ourselves.
I have to admit, I was impressed when I entered the lobby, but blown away when I headed out to the outdoor pool area and terrace-and not so much by the (huge) pool but more when I turned back and looked up at the hotel. It really is one hell of a majestic looking hotel and the stunning architecture bought me to think about the beautiful palace hotels in Udaipur, India. For those who follow me on snap (AnitaUbhi) you’ll know just how much I was referring to India whilst I was there!
What was I wearing on my day trip??? ZARA of course!!! The dress and shoes are both Zara-dress purchased in the Middle East & shoes in London, and of course my boy was with me as usual 😉 Take note of the below dress also-I’m absolutely LOVING all shades of blue at the moment and the combination of pale blue/bare shoulders/fluidity is just so effortless. This dress is a must buy from Zara and it’s only 199 AED:
For those who have commented on my IG with regards to hair…I have to give a massive shoutout to Ida at Jenny Rose Spa in Motor City! Please please please visit this place if you’re stressed out about your hair like I was!
I got to the point where I was so stressed about where to get my colour and cut exactly how I like it-given that I’d previously had a balayage and my stylist is EPIC I knew it wouldn’t be an easy feat so when I walked out of the salon with the exact colour I was after AND blow-dry on point I was one happy bunny! Also my hair is finally soft ! I was pretty much there the WHOLE day and I’m not the most patient human being but the service was fantastic and I’ll definitely be going back.
